People and phone settings
People management and phone configuration now live in two focused settings areas. Use the organization menu → Organization → People to manage the people in your organization. Use the organization menu → Phone to manage the organization’s phone service.

Older /settings/team-phones bookmarks still redirect to the appropriate new page. Update internal bookmarks and training material to use the current locations above.
Invite a teammate
Section titled “Invite a teammate”- Open the organization menu → Organization → People.
- Select Invite member.
- Enter the recipient’s email address and complete the invitation flow.
- The person appears in the roster after they accept the invitation.
An organization may need available seats before another teammate can be added. The People page shows the relevant seat controls when that applies.
Give a teammate a phone number
Section titled “Give a teammate a phone number”- Open the organization menu → Organization → People.
- Open the teammate’s phone management sheet. If they have no number, use Assign number from the roster or Add number inside the sheet.
- Choose an available organization number, or add a number through the phone-number flow.
- In the same sheet, use the number’s actions to make it the teammate’s primary line when needed.
A primary number is the usual default for that teammate. Outbound organization policies can still select a different line for a particular recipient or conversation; see Phone routing.
Manage voicemail and ownership
Section titled “Manage voicemail and ownership”The teammate’s phone sheet is also where you manage their assigned lines and voicemail templates. Removing a number from a teammate is different from releasing it: an unassign action keeps the line with the organization so it can be given to someone else, while a release action relinquishes the organization’s managed line.
For organization-wide line inventory and carrier status, use Phone numbers. For what a line does when a new person contacts it, use Inbound setup.
