Use Text Templates and Sending Warnings

The current communication composer.

Start with a suitable recipient and sender

Section titled “Start with a suitable recipient and sender”

Open the text composer from a contact or an existing conversation. Select an eligible recipient number and confirm the From line. Goliath can warn when the recipient line is marked as a landline, home line, or an unknown type; treat that warning as a reason to verify the number rather than a delivery guarantee.

Use the template picker in the composer to apply a saved SMS template. Goliath renders the content against the selected contact and recipient, including the recipient’s actual number when the template uses that data. Read the final message before sending, especially when the contact has multiple phone numbers or a related person is selected.

Resolve a warning instead of forcing a send

Section titled “Resolve a warning instead of forcing a send”

The text composer explains several blocking or caution states:

  • The organization cannot currently send texts, or can still start the required registration.
  • You have no SMS-capable number available.
  • The organization has exhausted its texting credits.
  • The selected recipient’s line type may not receive texts.

Resolve the setup, registration, credit, or recipient issue first. Carrier registration and a usable sender line do not replace the need to honor consent and opt-outs.
