Organize Contacts with Lists, Filters, and Folders

Choose the right tool
Section titled “Choose the right tool”Use a list to keep a chosen set of contact records together. Use a saved filter to rerun criteria against the contact database. A contact can remain in a list after it stops matching a filter; a saved filter can include newly matching contacts without anyone adding them manually.
Folders organize saved filters. They do not change the contacts returned by a filter or the membership of a list.
Build a reusable contact segment
Section titled “Build a reusable contact segment”- Open Contacts and choose Add Filter.
- Set the criteria for the audience you want to review or work.
- Save the filter and give it a recognizable name.
- Choose Shared with team to make the saved filter visible to everyone in your organization, or Private to me to keep it personal.
- Optionally choose an existing folder or create a new one, then save the filter.
The builder starts in Simple mode and also offers Grouped mode. A filter saved in a folder follows that folder’s visibility. For example, a filter in a private folder is private even if you previously selected the shared option.
Reuse, duplicate, or organize a saved filter
Section titled “Reuse, duplicate, or organize a saved filter”Select a saved filter in the Contacts sidebar to run it. Open its context menu to Edit filter, Rename, Duplicate, or Move to another folder. Duplicating makes a separate copy with the same criteria, visibility, and folder, so revise the copy without changing the original.
Use Move to to place a saved filter in a team or private folder. The sidebar keeps team content separate from private content. Deleting a folder does not delete its filters; the filters return to the top level of their existing visibility area.
Add selected contacts to a list
Section titled “Add selected contacts to a list”- Open Contacts and narrow the table if needed.
- Select one or more rows.
- Select Add to list in the bulk action bar.
- Choose one or more existing lists, or create a list in the same picker.
- Confirm the update.

When viewing one list, select records and choose More → Remove from list to remove only those memberships. The underlying contacts remain in Goliath.
