Manage developer API keys

Organization admins can open the API Keys card in the organization menu → Integrations and select Manage keys. Personal developer keys are also on the API Keys page, reached through global search or a direct link.

Create a key only for a known integration or development use. Copy the secret to a secure secret manager when shown; never place it in source control, a shared spreadsheet, or chat. Use the manager to edit scopes, rotate or revoke access, and delete keys that are permanently no longer needed.

Skip Trace API key

The Skip Trace API card in Integrations issues a separate organization key, starting gd_, that can only run skip traces through the Skip Trace API. It does not appear on the API Keys page and has no scopes to choose. For an integration that only skip traces, this is the narrowest key to use. A developer API key needs the Admin scope to skip trace.

An organization admin generates, rotates or revokes it on that card. Rotating replaces the key at once: the old key stops working the moment the new one is shown, so have the new key ready to paste into the integration before you rotate.
