Create and Run a Call List

Contacts workspace where call-list audiences are selected

The Run plan when none of the selected contacts can be called. It names the reasons, and the left rail shows no contacts.

Call lists are built from Contacts. You need access to calling and at least one number in your dialing rotation before a run can start. If the run plan says there are no numbers in your rotation, an organization administrator can add one.

Saved call lists appear in the Call lists section at the bottom of the Contacts sidebar. The section shows up once your organization has at least one call list. The old standalone Dialer address redirects to Contacts.

  1. Find the contacts to call

Open Contacts and use filters, a saved filter, or a list to narrow the records you want to work.

  2. Select the contacts

Select one or more contact rows. The bulk action bar appears.

  3. Choose Call

Select Call in the bulk action bar. On a desktop-width screen, Goliath opens the Run plan.

  4. Review the run plan

The left rail lists the contacts in the order they will be called. Move a contact to the top or remove it there. The run plan card has these sections:

    • Name: the call list’s name.
    • How to dial: Numbers per contact, and Include related people.
    • Who to call: Override do-not-contact.
    • Calling from: the numbers in your dialing rotation. Bulk calls go out from these numbers.
    • Tag everyone reached: an optional tag for every contact you reach.

Contacts that cannot be called are left off when the list is created. The run names each skipped contact and the reason as it reaches them. If none of the selected contacts can be called, the run plan says so and you cannot start.

  5. Start the run

Check the Top of the list line, then select Create and start calling. Goliath saves the call list and starts calling its first contact without leaving Contacts.

On a tablet-width window, Call opens a short calling preview instead of the Run plan:

  • Start calling, with the number of contacts, starts calling the listed contacts right away.
  • Advanced settings opens a full builder. It has Who to call switches (teammates’ contacts, related people, do-not-contact and known litigators), a Can’t call list, tags, and Call from when you have more than one number. Select Start calling there. It auto-dials the list, top to bottom.

A run started this way is not saved under Call lists. On a phone-width screen, Call is not in the bulk action bar.

Each saved call list has a row under Call lists in the Contacts sidebar. Select the row to open its detail rail.

  • Select Start calling to begin an available run.
  • Select Resume calling for a paused run when you are the person who built it or an organization administrator.
  • If someone else is working the run, the rail says who instead of letting a second person take it over.
  • An ended run can still show contacts that were not dialed. “All done” appears only when every contact in the run was worked.
  1. Open the list

Under Call lists in the Contacts sidebar, select the list’s row to open its detail rail.

  2. Choose Delete call list

Select Delete call list at the bottom of the rail, then Delete list to confirm.

The list is removed for everyone, and this can’t be undone. Calls already made stay on each contact’s history. Delete call list shows only to the person who built the list or an organization administrator, and only while nobody is calling from the list.

Organization administrators can open Call list settings from the gear in the Call lists section. This is where the organization manages the behavior that supports calling runs, including after-call actions, outcomes, call-card fields, voicemail templates, and pacing.
