Making calls

Make Call dialog with recipient search and outgoing-line picker

Goliath’s call composer lets you choose who to call and, when more than one line is available, the line the call comes from. Calls are placed through the browser, so grant microphone access when your browser asks for it.

  1. Open a contact’s call action, or open the call composer from another supported communication entry point.
  2. Select the contact and the phone number to call.
  3. Review the From line. Goliath applies the organization’s outbound-call policy first and can offer another eligible line for you to choose.
  4. Select Call.
  5. Allow microphone access if prompted, then use the in-call controls to manage the call.

If Goliath needs a phone number before the call can start, it shows a setup action instead of starting a call. Add or assign a line from Phone numbers.

The Calls go out from policy at the organization menu → Phone → Routing establishes the organization default. It does not force every call to a single line: the caller can be offered a different eligible line, and a recent conversation can influence the best line for a contact.

The When your team reaches out card on Phone → Routing, with the Text replies go out from and Calls go out from choices.

To make a teammate’s normal line available, assign it under the organization menu → Organization → People. See Phone routing for the difference between inbound and outbound settings. Who rings when someone calls in is set on the Automations Map, under Phone calls.

  • Check browser microphone access, then retry the call.
  • Confirm that the contact has a selected phone number.
  • Confirm that your organization has an available line and that you can use it.
  • If Goliath reports a line problem, return to the organization menu → Phone → Numbers to review the line’s status.

Calls you place yourself, one at a time or from a call list, are never held back by the time where the contact is. Getting the contact’s consent to call is up to you.

Call lists live in the Contacts sidebar. The old /dialer address redirects to Contacts. Organization administrators manage call-list behavior in Call list settings: select the gear beside Call lists in the Contacts sidebar. See Configure call list settings.

For a saved recording played after an outbound call reaches a voicemail greeting, see Use prerecorded voicemail drops.
