Mark a Wrong Number
A phone number’s status lives on the contact. Marking it Wrong keeps the number on the record for history but leaves it out of new call lists.
During a call from a contact
Section titled “During a call from a contact”When you call from a contact record, the calling panel shows a This number control. Choose Wrong to mark the number you are dialing, or Correct or Unverified to change it back.
From the contact record
Section titled “From the contact record”Open the contact, then use the edit control next to the contact information. In the phone-number section, the status button beside each number steps from unverified (Verify) to verified (a check mark) to Wrong, then back to unverified, so an unverified number takes two selections to reach Wrong. Select Save changes to keep it; closing the dialog first asks whether to discard the change.
After a failed text
Section titled “After a failed text”When a text fails, the notice under it can offer Mark wrong number. Choose it to mark that number Wrong on the contact.
Calling from a property
Section titled “Calling from a property”In a property’s Owners & Related Parties → View All Details, a phone number’s Call button places a call that is not linked to a contact, so that call cannot mark the number or log an outcome. (The Text button does link to the contact when the number already belongs to one.) To mark the number, open the owner’s contact with View Existing Contact in the property header, or create it with Skip Trace & Add to Contacts, then call from the contact.
Call-list outcomes are separate
Section titled “Call-list outcomes are separate”In a call list, the default Bad number outcome records how that call went. It does not change the number’s status, and a call-list call has no This number control. To keep the number off future call lists, also mark it Wrong on the contact record.
