Manage a Contact Record

Contacts tour

Select a row on Contacts to open that contact’s record. The record brings together the contact’s details with related Deals, Tasks, Appointments, Files & Photos, and Contributors. It also has reference cards for Custom Fields, Tags, and Lists.

  1. Open the contact from Contacts.
  2. Select the edit control beside the contact name.
  3. In Contact info, update the information you have, including phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, and the contact type.
  4. Save the changes before closing the dialog.

Use the + controls in the contact-info form to add another phone number or email address. The record’s Custom Fields card is for values on that contact; use its management control when your organization needs to create or change the field definitions themselves.

Select the three-dot Contact options control to open these record-level actions:

  • Archive or Unarchive the contact.
  • Enrich the contact.
  • Open Attribution.
  • Merge contact… when the record is eligible for the merge action.
  • Mark the contact Do not contact, or undo that status.

Archiving is different from deleting a list membership. See Archive and Restore Contacts and Organize Contacts with Lists, Filters, and Folders for the two workflows.

Use the cards on a contact record to keep the surrounding work connected:

  • Review deals, tasks, appointments, and files without leaving the record.
  • Use Contributors to review the people and teams involved with the contact.
  • Maintain tags, list memberships, and custom-field values for segmentation.
