In our journey to refine Goliath Data, we embarked on a series of user interviews to better understand the needs and challenges of our diverse user base. These interviews provided invaluable insights, revealing both expected and unexpected findings that have significantly influenced our product development and customer engagement strategies.

Understanding User Needs

One of the key takeaways from our interviews was the diversity in user needs across different segments. Goliath Data serves a wide range of real estate professionals, including realtors, investors, and institutional buyers. Each group has distinct requirements, which we initially underestimated.

Realtors

Realtors expressed a strong need for tools that help them connect with motivated homeowners efficiently. They valued features that convert data into actionable relationships, driving more listings and faster closings. Our platform's ability to provide real-time seller data and personalized outreach was particularly appreciated.

Investors

Investors highlighted the importance of surfacing sellers that fit specific buy boxes. They wanted to spend less time on prospecting and more on closing deals. The ability to filter by various property attributes and seller intent scores was crucial for them.

Institutional Buyers

For institutional buyers, the focus was on streamlined sourcing across major asset classes nationwide. They needed a platform that could handle large-scale data and provide insights into SFR portfolios, distressed properties, and turnkey rentals.

Challenges in Onboarding and Usability

Despite our efforts to create an intuitive platform, some users reported challenges during the onboarding process. Although Goliath offers instant access with a typical setup time of around two minutes, users suggested that additional guidance and support could enhance their initial experience.

To address this, we are exploring ways to provide more comprehensive onboarding resources and improve user interface elements to make navigation even more intuitive.

Data Accuracy and Freshness

Data accuracy and freshness were top priorities for our users. They appreciated Goliath's real-time data updates and hourly refreshes, which ensured they were always working with the most current information. This feature was particularly valued by those who needed to act quickly on emerging opportunities.

Feedback on CRM Integration

Our CRM integration was another area of focus during the interviews. Users appreciated the one-time CRM sync and ongoing enrichment features, which allowed them to maintain up-to-date contact information and insights without manual intervention.

However, some users expressed a desire for more customizable integration options to better align with their existing workflows. While Goliath supports auto-push leads to legacy CRMs or the embedded Command Center, we recognize the need for further enhancements in this area.

Filtering and Targeting Capabilities

The ability to filter and target specific prospects was a major selling point for Goliath users. Our platform offers a wide range of filtering options, including location, property attributes, price, ownership, market status, and seller motivation. These features enable users to build precise, noise-free lists tailored to their needs.

Users particularly valued the stackable filters and the ability to define a 'buy box' for prospect discovery. These capabilities allowed them to focus on high-value leads and streamline their outreach efforts.

Automation and Outreach

Automation features were highly praised by users, who appreciated the ability to conduct multichannel outreach through personalized calls, texts, and emails at scale. Automated follow-ups and drip actions helped keep prospects engaged and moving through the sales funnel.

Our smart call lists and instant summaries were also well-received, providing users with the tools they needed to accelerate their outreach efforts and improve conversion rates.

Closing Deals Efficiently

Closing deals efficiently is a top priority for our users, and Goliath's deal dashboard and automated contract creation features were instrumental in achieving this goal. Users valued the ability to track every deal, measure activity efficiency, and automate contract creation to shorten time-to-close.

Digital agreements and document tracking provided additional support, enabling users to manage closing processes remotely and with greater transparency.

Continuous Improvement

The feedback from our first 100 user interviews has been invaluable in shaping the future of Goliath Data. We are committed to continuous improvement and are actively working on enhancements that address the needs and challenges identified by our users.

As we move forward, we remain dedicated to providing the tools and insights that empower real estate professionals to prospect, nurture, and close deals more effectively. We thank our users for their candid feedback and look forward to continuing our journey together.
